Historical Discography Series Launched

Ethnic and Vernacular Music

The American Discography Project is pleased to announce the launch of the UCSB Historical Discography Series, a new series of eBook reprints of historical and out-of-print discographies. The series launches with four titles on a broad range of subjects.

The initial titles are:

Ethnic and Vernacular Music, 1898-1960 by Paul Vernon

The Banjo on Record: A Bio-Discography by Uli Haier and Rainer Lotz

The Orchestra on Record, 1896-1926 by Claude Arnold

British Music Hall on Record by Brian Rust

The first three are published under license from ABC-CLIO and the fourth under license from the Mark Allen Group. The eBooks are free in an effort to promote further scholarship on historical sound recordings.

Additional titles are planned for the series, pending clearance of rights and eBook production. The editor welcomes suggestions for additional titles.
