Brunswick Historical Survey

Brunswick Records: A Discography of Recordings, 1916-1931, compiled by Ross Laird.

The general purpose of the Brunswick records discography is set out in the Preface.

In the Introduction I have tried to provide background information on various aspects of the origin and development of Brunswick records, which will put the discographical sections that make up the bulk of these volumes into context. It is not essential to read through all of the following in order to make sense of the discographical listings. However, the information provided here is much more detailed and accurate than anything else on Brunswick history and business practices previously published, and a general understanding of this material will certainly aid in the interpretation of the discographical data.

If you require only information directly related to the discographical listings please go directly to the User's Guide.
