Laird notes that a note on the recording sheet for LA918 reads "Test recording as per Mr. Kapp 1/27/1931," and that an additional notation on the sheet states: "Please see Harms' New York Office regarding composers' credit. The melody of the chorus was taken from Grammophone record #B-50234 (German) by Mischa-Spoliansky-Schiffer [sic]. The melody for the verse was written by Earl Burtnett. The words were written by Earl Burtnett and Sam Coslow."
