| EDVR vol. II notes: The assigned catalog number for this recording (88500) is unique in its series and is indicative of a certain unsettled policy in the Victor plant. The 89000 series had already been established for 12" Red Seal duets priced at $4. Early plates show 89009 had initially been assigned this record, but that number was crossed out and 88500 substituted, apparently because someone decided that this record should sell for $3 instead of $4. This is the only record issued in the 88500 series. It was available from June 1907 through February 1913. (See notes for 4991 and 4993.) | |
