II: Described in early catalogs as "The cornfield medley, with whistle and gang-plank effects," this selection seems to have been a best-seller and was no doubt "improved" by various changes through the years, including changing the title on some issues to "Way down yonder in the cornfield." We suspect that may be the reason why it appears under various numbers in the Pre-Matrix lists and seems to occur in various remakes under three matrix numbers: See 407, 530, and 728. | |
